The long-tailed Tit is found across the UK except the far north & west of Scotland. They can be seen flocking with other Tits during the winter. Gregarious and noisy bird found in UK all year round.


Identification

Adult
Crown white with bold black stripes over the eyes extending to black back. Wings are black & white with broad pink band across upper edge. Tail is black with white outer feathers. Underparts are white with pink undertail.
Juvenile
Lacks pink undertail converts and has a black sooty head.

13.5 - 14.5 cms
