House Sparrow

The House Sparrow is the most familiar of British birds, noisy & gregarious, found everywhere that’s inhabited by people taking advantage of man’s rubbish and waste. Its resident in the whole of the UK, although thinly distributed in upland areas and parts of Scottish highlands.

- Streaked brown & black upper body, chocolate nape and grey crown. It has a wide black bib across the breast.
- Female
- Buffy & brown streaked back, prominent pale eyebrows and double wing bar and lacks black bib.

- 14-15.5cm

- The House Sparrow is found in gardens, woods, hedges, heaths, marshes, sea cliff's & estuaries.
