The Skylark is a widespread visitor of Britain & Ireland that can be found in a wide variety of habitats all seasons of the year. This small brown bird is larger than a sparrow but smaller than a starling. Its population is in decline putting it on the endangered list of birds.
Indentification
Adult The Skylark has a heavily streaked buff & briwn body with a noticable small buff & brown crown crest. It has a long notched tail thats buff & brown with white edges. It has a white belly & throat and heavily streaked upperparts.   
Size 17 - 18cms (6.5 - 7 in)

Behaviour walks; takes off & lands on the ground
