The robin is the most familiar and popular of the garden & woodland birds see across the whole of the UK all year round.
Indentification
Adult An aggressively territorial , iupright plump little bird. The male & female Robins look identical. The upperparts are a warm olive- brown colour and they have a red face, chin & breast. Their belly is white with pale grey sides.
Juvenile The young Robin has a brown head, wings, and tail with brown spotting/barring. Their breast is buffy in colour also barred.
Size 13 - 15 cms

Habitat towns, gardens, heaths, woods, hedges
Behaviour flits, hops, perches openly, takes off & lands from vegetation or the ground

Voice thin tic tic tic ,  leisurely warble. They can be heard singing at night next to street lamps

Nest in tree stump or on a bank
Eggs 5 - 6, white speckled reddish
Incubation period 12 - 15 days
Fledgling 12 - 15 days
Broods 2 - 3; April - June
Food insects, seeds, worms, fruit.
